Ultra Reversi Online update 1.0.4

This patch fixes the problems some players had with not being able to play online games. The fireworks have been improved too!

Boats & Banners Alpha 1.0.7 release!

This patch actually changed a LOT, but players won't see most of that. 80% of the changes are improvements to the game's code. For example, I wrote a seperate tile-gen library (source code here) and implemented it into this project. The map-gen algorithm is now better (and faster), but it's not really different in terms of gameplay.

One of the gameplay changed is the addition of the Dock building. You can now build units from your colonies, and they will spawn in your dock. The Docks spawn automatically when building a colony, but I might allow players to build their own in the future.

The UI has also been improved a lot. It's smaller and more concise, which I think is a lot better.

This is mainly a bug fix patch. I did change the way resources spawn, which means players now always have useful resources near their starting location. Here's the full list of changes:

  • Changed map generation. Resources are now more evenly distributed. Also, land is now easier to find for every player.
Graphical changes
  • Changed & improved many sprites.
  • Added shadows to to game objects.
Bug fixes
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes clicking buttons didn't work
  • Fixed a crash that happened when the player lost the game.

This update changes quite a lot. The game still needs a lot of balance changes, so I changed the way resources spawn. Only some land tiles now have resources, which makes the game much more balanced. Still, a lot of work needs to be done to make the game more equal, especially once I start to add some more features.

Many other things are now added, including scrolling text which I am quite pleased with! Here are the notes:


  • Changed the way resources spawn. There are now tiles without resources on the map and fewer resources overall, which makes the game more of a challenge.

Boats & Banners Alpha 1.0.4 release!

First of all, his update adds Fog of War to the map. Since this game is also about exploration and discovery, it's an overdue change!

Secondly, I improved the textures a lot. Water actually has depth now, which looks a lot better. I'm still not happy with some of the older UI layouts, but overall it's much better than before. I also made a little loading animation:

In the next update I'm changing the way colonies work, which will add more variety to the gameplay. Also adding some long overdue story elements.
